It’s Grilling Season, Cleaning Your Grill

cleaning your grillIt’s grilling season and what better way to get ready for the big weekend, but to get that grill all nice and clean. Cleaning your grill actually helps in a number of ways. First, your food will taste like the kind of food you want it to be, a chicken a chicken, a burger a burger, and so on. Second, by cleaning your grill, your food will not stick to the grill. Cleaning your grill will prevent your food from burning and you will be able serve beautiful food.

Clean the Grill

It is important to clean your grill after each use.  The best way to clean your grill is after you have cooked your food, turn your grill off.  Once the grill is warm, use a wire brush to clean the grates of your grill. The food will come off with a wire brush. After you clean the grill, we also recommend you use a little oil on a paper towel and wipe down the grates. This tip will prevent food from sticking to the grates. Remember to let the grill cool completely before applying any paper because you do not want a fire. Also stay clear of hot grills as you risk getting burned.

Remember the Grates

Once you have cleaned your grates, now you can clean the rest of your grill. To start cleaning a charcoal grill, you need empty its ashes. Once the ashes are removed, scrub the inside of the grill with hot soapy water. On a gas grill, you will also need to clean below the grates. However, it is important that you make sure the gas is off so as not to hurt yourself. Make sure there is nothing blocking the flow of gas and also make sure the ceramic briskets are clean of any debris. If you have some tough trouble areas in the grill, use oven cleaner to help remove the caked on pieces. Rinse off the oven cleaner before starting to cook on the grill.  This thorough cleaning can be done once a year.

A Quick Outside Touch Up

Because you want your grill to look beautiful, do not forgot the outside of your grill. With some grills, you can touch up their outer appearance up with a can of spray paint. And with stainless steel grills, we recommend you use a stainless steel cleaner to get the outside of your grill looking great.
