With the year in full swing, the paint companies have established their suggested 2025 colors of the year. Some of these colors are bold and rich while others are a bit more subtle. Another trend we are seeing is that many of these companies are now offering full palettes of color to better help homeowners and designers make decorating decisions with a complete set of colors that work well together to ensure a complete design.
Let’s get to it and share the different colors.
Dunn Edwards
Dunn Edwards paint company has decided that Caramelized is color needed by every homeowner. This color was inspired by terracotta buildings of Italy. It personally reminds us a bit of Sante Fe, New Mexico. Dunn Edwards looks at this color as a new neutral color moving forward. They have also coordinated some sister colors of cream and blues to complement this color.
This color offered by Dunn Edwards is straying from the cooling waters of last year’s color Skipping Stones which is bluer focused. May they have from sea to earth for 2025.
Sherwin Williams
Sherwin Williams has decided to offer a color capsule versus one color of the year There are nine colors in this palette. It truly is an artist palette of browns, blues, creams, and even a mauve color. This gives opportunities to homeowners to look at different colors that could support a home from room to room in its entirety.
Behr
Behr Paints is not straying from its rich and bold selection for 2025. In 2024, Behr choose a very rich color in cracker pepper which is a black color that made a difference in a room. 2025 is just as bold with Rumors, a rich ruby colored maroon or reddish color. This color is a standout color and one of the boldest of the group we are sharing.
Behr understands the boldness of this color and also offers fifteen complementary colors with this rich ruby making it easy for homeowners to discover pairs and accent colors.
Valspar
Valspar left the light airy green of 2024 and added a rich brighter blue for 2025 called Encore. The complementary colors associated with Encore is lavender and sage. It appears that Valspar wants this color to stand out and on its own and it looks like it can. This color can be used inside or on the outside of your home for a bold yet bright feel.
C2 Paint
Another bold color was selected by C2 Paint. They choose a brown called Raku. A brown color that feels like an old leather sofa found in library or office. This color bridges some of the other colors we have in the list, but definitely for those willing to use a rich bold color in their home that brings an earthy but also regal feel to most rooms.
Benjamin Moore
Benjamin Moore also chooses a blue paint for 2024 and moving towards an earthlier color for 2025 with Cinnamon Slate. This color feels like a brown plum. It is a rich color but still a subtle color. It feels like a warm inviting color that could make a great color for a foyer.
Benjamin Moore also offers a complete palette for those interested in using a group of colors in their homes.
Stainmaster
Lowe’s the owner of Stainmaster also stepped away from green of 2024 but moved into an earthy color with Truffle. Truffle is just that a warm brownish color with hints of grey like that of a mushroom. The team at Stainmaster stated that this color can appeal to a multitude of different styles from boho chic to open airy family spaces, and rustic to modern minimalism.
Pantone
The Pantetone organization generally sets the stage for colors of the year. And 2025 is no different. Mocha Mousse is the color of year. This color feels like sand or a skin tone. This color was selected to reflect a feeling of harmony and balance. This color is a natural step after the peachy color of 2024 that Pantone suggested.
They decided that five different color palettes support different styles. Some of these palettes are bright and fun, while others are soft and earthy. Either way, there is a palette for everyone.
Whatever colors appeal to you, a focus on earthy tones are present in 2025. Celebrating the earth and how it supports us is a great way to bring the earth inside the home. Colors help us personalize our spaces and is a great affordable way to decorate our homes.
