Father’s Day is this weekend and what better gift to give dad but taking some chores off his plate. Giving him some time to do something he enjoys or giving your dad some time to relax can go a long way. These are some of the household tasks that father’s take on and could use a little help from their family.
- Mowing the Lawn
Moving the lawn can take up some time depending on the size of your family’s yard. By you cutting the grass, you free your dad up for some golf or go cart racing. Whatever his pleasure, now he has some free time to enjoy it which is a fantastic Father’s Day gift.
2. Cleaning and Skimming the Pool
If you have a pool, it generally needs a bit of cleaning with some brushes and a quick skim to remove any debris on the water’s surface. This is a great task to perform for your dad because once this task is complete, you and your dad and the rest of the family can participate in a swim day for Father’s Day.
3. Taking Care of the Dishes
When you have a family that serves three meals a day, your family is bound to have dishes. And lots of them. So if you can clean, dry and put away dishes, you have taken a burden off the members of your family who are responsible for this chore. If you use a dishwasher, then unloading the dishwasher and putting the dishes away can speed up this household taks and add more time for fun.
4. Vacuuming the House
Some dads, especially engineers, are great vacuumers as they have these beautiful precise vacuum marks in the carpet. So if your dad is the one who vacuums, then it is yet another task to do for him as vacuuming a home depending on its size can also take some time.
5. Straightening the Garage
Now this is a tricky task to perform for dad, because if you straighten the garage, you need to tell your dad where you moved everything so he knows where it is when he needs it next. If you can remember this, then sweeping the garage, moving some items to a more organized area and wiping down shelves can please your dad, and it might also please your mom. Nothing feels better than an organized environment where you can find what you need.
So for this Father’s Day, try taking some burdens and tasks off your father’s plate to open the opportunity to have some fun with him!
