The Pantone organization is at it again and they have decided that 2017 is brighter than 2016. They offer us the color Greenery or 2017 Pantone color 15-0343. This is a fun, bright and almost neon style green. Why Greenery you ask? The Pantone organization states, “A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” The stated that a feeling of hopefulness is in the air.
Green is a great neutral color that can be used in a lot of rooms and products. This particular shade of green is a bit brighter than traditional kelly or moss greens. It also has a yellow hue to it that makes it feel happy and cheery. Greenery is a color that looks a lot like grass, plants, matcha tea or a green apple. It has a brightness to it that makes everything around it feel like spring or fresh and new again.
Symbolism
The color green symbolized newness, rebirth, growth, nature and it is lucky in some cultures. Similar to the 2016 Pantone colors of the year, there is freshness and calmness about Greenery. Yet there is a hopefulness that signifies change. Our lives are very busy and stressful and now we have an opportunity to embrace a re invigoration with a color like Greenery. We also can embrace a level of calm with green.
Multi Functional
Green and in this particular instance, Greenery is a great color to pair other colors with in your decorating efforts. You can use this Greenery as a focal or main color in a room, or you can use it to tone down or brighten up a room. Green is becoming another neutral color that can function with a lot of other colors.
