You work hard to take care of your lawn and garden.
From mowing and weed-eating, to clipping and pulling weeds, there’s a lot that goes into making a beautiful landscape. So why shouldn’t you have a little fun with all of that hard work and do some things that will make your backyard the envy of the neighborhood?
1. Build a firepit
Building a firepit isn’t difficult to do. And the fun you and your family will have when you sit out back roasting smores and sharing stories on cool summer evenings will make the effort well worth it.
You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to create a firepit.Using simple materials such as gravel, pavers and/or bricks that surround a steel ring, it’s possible to make a nice firepit quickly and easily.
2. Hang a comfortable hammock
Nothing says lazy summer days quite like stretching out on a hammock. The warm sun kissing your face as you sway gently in the breeze.
Some hammocks are more prone to flipping you over onto the ground if you’re not careful. So look for ones that are designed to prevent that.
3. Light up your trees with string lights
String lights aren’t just for Christmas!
Bring the twinkling skies to your backyard with outdoor string lights spread across the limbs of trees, along fences, or even down low, along walkways…anywhere you’d like to add a beautiful, whimsical touch to your backyard space.
4. Add a small pond or other water feature
Depending on the available space, you can add a small Koi pond. Or if you have the budget for it, a little creek and pond complete with bridges, plants and fish.
You can also add a water fountain or bird bath. And add beautiful plants, gazing glass and solar lighting surrounding your bird bath.
5. Build a gazebo
A gazebo is a desirable addition to any backyard.
There are many plans available to help you build your own. If building is not thing, you can buy kits to make the perfect gazebo for your backyard.
Add a lovely chaise lounge, swing or hammock and you’ve got the perfect place to spend a hot summer afternoon, or to relax every evening after a long day at work.
