If you’re after a certain look you can make the clear mason jars unique by painting them, or decorating them with stickers and/or contact paper.

Mason jars work well in the laundry as organizers.

Keep one handy for that pocket change that inevitably finds itself at the bottom of your washing machine when you forget to empty the family’s pants pockets!

Another use for mason jars in the laundry is to store the tools needed for quick clothing repair such as patches, needles and thread. Don’t forget a pair of scissors to clip those stray threads from towels and clothing that are starting to unravel.

Keep all of the jars together in a in a shallow tray or container together with other laundry essentials such as a sweater shaver or lint brush.

3. Silverware caddy

Elsewhere, mason jars work well as a caddy for your silverware. This is a great option for backyard BBQs, church potlucks or anywhere you come across a hungry crowd!

To protect the glass, remove the circular part of the lid but leave the outer ring, especially if the contents will rise above the jar’s lip.

Mason jars work well in your craft room.

They’re great for stray pieces of ribbon and fabric and can be sorted by color to make them easy to find what you need.

Set the jars either on open shelves in your room, inside a cabinet or in a basket. Go for jars that are wide mouth; not only will you be able to quickly get your item, the wider mouth makes it easy to clean too.

Mason jars are perfect for storing your art supplies too.

Fill them with pencils, paint brushes, markers, crayons, and other art supplies.  Place the jars in a tray or a basket to easily carry your craft items from room to room.

5. Dry food storage

Mason jars work well for dry ingredients storage.

If you use things frequently like pasta or rice, remove them from their original packing and put them in clear mason jars. Label them with a marker or paper label.

When you can see what you have not only does it make it easy for you to grab what you need while you’re cooking but you also always have the reminder of what you’re running low on that makes creating that grocery list faster and easier.

Finally, as mason jars come in a variety of colors it is possible that you will find jars that suit your particular decor.
