There are a lot of decisions to make when planning for a swimming pool. The primary aspects are the location in the backyard, the general shape, and the depth of the swimming pool. In addition, usually a concrete or tile deck is planned and constructed around the pool. Oftentimes, when considering a swimming pool home remodel project, homeowners combine a pool with an outdoor patio or decking area. How to plan for a swimming pool

Two big options to consider with a pool are whether to put in an adjacent spa and if you want a water feature like a fountain, waterfall or slide.  Depending on where you live, a decision on whether to have a heater to heat the pool and whether you want a gas fired unit or an electric or solar unit will be other decisions to make.  If you already solar panels, you may be able to use the panels to heat your pool.

There are lots of different choices for the surface material of the pool which will require your decision making skills. You will also need to make selections on color of the material … do you want a dark bottom pool or a light bottom pool. Do you want multi colored tile or go with a themed colored. Most pools also have an accent tile at the water level and underwater lights. Both of these elements add a lot of aesthetic look to the pool both during the day and at night.
