5 Creative Kids’ Playhouse Ideas You Can Make in a Day

I still bear the marks on my leg from one of my childhood forts…

I had a huge box at my disposal. I don’t remember what was in it; I was about 9 or 10…I didn’t care what was in it, I had a huge box I could play with!

But…in typical DIY fashion I decided to split the box into “rooms” using a steak knife I’d managed to procure from the kitchen.

One slip as I was sawing away and the knife was plunged about an inch into my leg.

Ouch.

Thankfully, my mom wasn’t the squeamish type…she slapped a bandage on it, then ordered me not to play with knives, lol.

It doesn’t matter what generation you’re talking about, all kids love to make forts.

There’s just something about a space that’s all your own as a kid, where you can hide, play games, read books, and explore the cosmos…

Want to make (or help your kids make) their own special place?
